Matt Williams: Tiny Boxes, Zansa and more....

At age 28, Asheville based multi-instrumentalist and producer Matt Williams reaches listeners with his unique approach to songwriting and improvising. Composing and singing for several completely different bands while performing as a guest with others, Matt is one of the most in-demand artists in the region.

Matt has shared the stage with such legendary musicians as Ike Stubblefield, Roy "Futureman" Wooten, Kofi Burbridge, Fareed Haque, Grant Green Jr., and Jeff Sipe. Most recently, Williams joined notable guitarist, Bon Lozaga (Gongzilla), to form a new band called Tiny Boxes, currently on tour with special guests like Jake Cinninger and Joel Cummins of Umphrey's McGee and bassist Ryan Martinie (Mudvayne/Korn).  Tiny Boxes just released their first recording, "Tiny EP" , now available for purchase.

Williams and bassist, Ryan Reardon are collaborating with 33rd generation djembe player Adama Dembele in the Afrobeat ensemble Zansa, creating an original take on the authentic sounds of West Africa.

Matt Williams is also the founder of Asheville, NC independent record label and catalogue, Mended Heart R
