Matt Williams: Tiny Boxes, Zansa, The Ocean, Super 5, Josh Blake's Juke Box.


At age 27, Asheville based multi-instrumentalist Matt Williams reaches listeners with his unique approach to songwriting and improvising. Composing and singing for three unique bands while performing with several others, Matt Williams is one of the most in-demand artists in the region.

Matt has shared the stage with such legendary musicians as Ike Stubblefield, Roy "Futureman" Wooten, Kofi Burbridge, Fareed Haque, Grant Green Jr., and Jeff Sipe.

His trio project,
The Ocean, is recording their debut studio album, "Symphonies In Sea" to be released on Mended Heart Records.  Williams and bassist, Ryan Reardon are collaborating with 33rd generation djembe player Adama Dembele in the Afrobeat ensemble Zansa, creating an original take on the authentic sounds of West Africa.  

Most recently, Williams joined notable guitarist,
Bon Lozaga (Gongzilla), to form a new band called Tiny Boxes, currently on tour with special guests like Jake Cinninger and Joel Cummins of Umphrey's McGee and bassist Ryan Martinie (Mudvayne).
